Ignore Title. ;D
Anyway, this is for entertainment while we decide what to do with the forum. Roleplay away!
Okay. I'm about to cheat. This is a typed up intro for a guild I joined a while ago. But I'm just posting it so you guys can get to know Blackfoot and Thornstripe.
All was silent in the forest as a solitary figure weaved through the undergrowth. Her black paws, despite being unusually large, met the ground with little noise. Her whiskers brushed the ferns gently, guiding her lithe body as she followed her nose.
She was tracking a vole that was very good at hiding.
Thornstripe was growing impatient with the rodent, and couldn't wait to sink her teeth into it's fur.
Now she was close- a small shuffling sound was coming from behind a tuft of undergrowth.
But as the she-cat dropped into a crouch, she became aware of a scent other than her prey. She recognized it immediately, and her eyes narrowed in frustration.
"Fancy finding you here, Blackfoot." She growled as she pushed through to confront the cat.
It was a thick-set but small tom with a pelt that matched her own- long, striped, and black-footed. He was burying something, and with a squeak of disbelief Thornstripe realized it was the elusive vole she'd been hunting for so long.
"Hello there, Thornstripe." Blackfoot meowed in a friendly tone, but he narrowed his eyes.
"I see you've met my friend," The she-cat hissed, gesturing at the lump of dirt.
"What, you can't blame me for stealing it." Blackfoot scoffed. "You were as slow as a wounded badger."
"I was about to catch it, mousebrain." Thornstripe said, her voice dry but her swishing tail betraying all her anger. “How long were you following me?”
"Not long. I just came here after watching Faintpaw's ceremony. He's now Faintshadow the medicine cat. A pity you missed it." Blackfoot told her as he stood up and kicked a little bit more dirt over his kill.
Normally a warrior would be excited to discuss something such as a ceremony with another clan member, especially a sibling, but the bitterness between the two kept Thornstripe from it. As kits the siblings had never gotten along, but that only got worse when Blackfoot was made an apprentice before his sister because he had accidentally injured her in a playfight.
"Why do you say it like that?" Thornstripe hissed.
"Say what like what?"
"You said that like I missed some once-in-a-lifetime event and you're special because you saw it!"
"You're overreacting. I'm not that stuck-up."
"Not /that/ stuck-up?" Thornstripe laughed harshly as she turned to to stalk back to camp, sick of her brother.
"I don't think it was because of that injury your ceremony was delayed! You have about as much maturity as a twoleg kit!" Blackfoot called after her.
Thornstripe froze mid-step, feeling the sting of his words almost as if they were claws raking down her side. It was all she could do to keep walking and resist the urge to turn around and claw Blackfoot right on the eye.
